Phil has a sit down with Bruce Pandolfini, writer of "Solitaire Chess" for Chess Life and author of numerous books including Every Move Must Have a Purpose. Listen carefully to this episode for some ways to think through various chess problems.
Checkerphil, you have really nailed it, this was A class. You have really worked hard on this show, everything has came together very well. It was interesting, the mate in two with queen was something new for me! Mate in 3 with rook too. I could probably have mated from those positions but the advice for move selection was eye opening, Thanks for posting the vid keep up the good work.
Pandolfini’s new book is out. “Let’s Play Chess” Edition 2
GET IT!!
You’re so far apart, it’s so formal! I’m going to have to save this for later when I can devote an entire half hour and learn the secrets of life.
great guest.. great show
Best episode so far. Good guest. Would be better without the music. Also, lose the idea of having people call in. Its not working.
Stop encouraging Checker Phil. Mediocrity shouldn’t be praised.
Best episode ever on Chessnow:) gonna buy those books myself
Suit up more often eh? I will take that under advisement Rishibwoy!
Sorry about that dream! Great to see you representing!
Oops. Haha, you’re right. Great outfit dude, you should wear a suit every time! Seriously
hey man, you never replyed to my comment all those months ago, thanks for the shout you gave me in episode 27.
We did mention him a slew of times! And plugged his book “The Art of Learning: An Inner Journey to Optimal Performance”
I used his mate strategy and did went 4-0 on Friday! Pandolfini rules! I’m gonna pick up some of his books! (In addition to Waitzkin’s book)
not to mention Josh Waitzkin!

Have you noticed every time Phil asks the crew to bring something up to show on the screen, they never do?
And like always, the music clashes with the people talking. Its not horrible, but its distracting.
Other than that, good stuff.
